Kabasaran Attire

Kabasaran Attire is the traditional warrior costume of the Minahasan ethnic group in North Sulawesi. Historically worn by Minahasan warriors, the attire is now primarily featured in performances of the traditional Kabasaran War Dance, which is characterized by strong, energetic, and martial movements.

Cooking Class

Join us for a hands-on cooking class and discover how to prepare Nasi Jaha, a signature dish of the Minahasa people in North Sulawesi. Made primarily from sticky rice, the name jaha comes from jahe, the Indonesian word for ginger, one of the dish’s key ingredients. What makes Nasi Jaha especially unique is its cooking method: the seasoned sticky rice is wrapped in banana leaves, placed inside bamboo tubes, and slowly roasted over charcoal. This traditional technique infuses the rice with a rich, smoky aroma that makes the dish especially flavorful and appetizing.
